What I do...
To truly impact change in someone's health, I believe that you must address overall health, not just reduce pain. In the beginning, I will certainly do all that I can to reduce or eliminate your pain. I consider myself very skilled in these areas and will utilize a variety of approaches to achieve great results in the least amount of time. I have great confidence in the ability of myself and staff to do this. But to keep the pain away, we must address the true source of the problem - you see pain is a symptom. It is the body's way a asking for help and is usually very responsive to care and is reduced quickly. Discontinuing care at this time may seem to make sense but you have a much greater risk of re-injury at this stage. I want you to be truly healed which will take some more time. It is my philosophy to keep you well-informed of the care choices before you and make you aware of all that chiropractic has to offer to you for a lifetime of health and vitality. My staff and I are happy to answer any questions you may have throughout your care.
In efforts to achieve the best results for my patients, I use a variety of chiropractic techniques including Flexion-Distraction, Thompson Drop, Diversified, and Mechanical Percussion. I am also a Certified Spinal Decompression Specialist. To further enhance these results and attain longer lasting results, I also utilize a variety of soft tissue therapies including myofascial release, trigger point reduction, and muscle energy/balance techniques. I am also certified in the Graston technique www.grastontechnique.com and have implemented the new Back Project system www.backproject.com to enhance patient outcomes. For more extensive information about the tools my staff and I use to help you restore your health, go the "Services and Techniques" tab.
Personal
I met my wife, Bethany, while working at The Conditioning Spa in Greeley doing our undergraduate work. She is my best friend and basically runs our office. She is also a Certified Sports Nutritionist and works with many of our patients developing strategies for improved nutrition and weight management.
Our son Caden: He is in 2nd grade at Southeast Christian School and enjoys learning about the Bible. He played lacrosse with the Hawks this year and looks forward to his second season - GO HAWKS!!! I have convinced him to be a Minnesota Twins fan. We pray that he continues to love the Lord and grows closer and closer to Him.
Our daughter Elayna Grace (Elle): She is a 1st grader at Southeast Christian School and is very active in singing and acting. If she isn't sleeping or eating, she is singing, dancing or playing Barbies. She is our princess and is pure sunshine wherever she goes!
How I got started in the health field:
At 13 years old I found that I needed to "bulk up" and started training with weights to keep up with the other kids. I started working out at my house before school and would ride my bike 4 miles to and from a Nautilus health facility 5 days a week. My body began to respond and at the age of 15, I decided to enter the junior Olympics to compete in the dead lift, bench press and squat competitions. Unfortunately, my skeletal system began to break down from the rigorous training routines and I began to have lower back pain. I visited a sports chiropractor in El Toro, California and began treatment that included realigning the spine and improving my core strength.
The chiropractor felt that I needed to shift gears to a more flexible and healthy way of training my body and persuaded me to start bodybuilding. I began to compete in various bodybuilding contests at age 16 and had very good success, while improving my muscle tone, nutritional habits and flexibility.
At the University of Northern Colorado, I began to study human anatomy and chemistry and became a certified personal trainer. I began working at The Conditioning Spa in Greeley and started training friends, but as my cliental began to grow, I had to find new exercise concepts to enhance their performance. I started to work with massage therapists and chiropractors.
I completed my Chiropractic Doctorate at Parker Chiropractic College in Dallas, Texas where I learned the true value of Chiropractic Health Care- not just as a means of pain reduction, but also as a vehicle to impact overall health. I began to view the body as a "whole unit" with the nervous system being the master control rather than a group of minimally connected systems. By restoring function of the nervous system, pain reduction, symptom abatement, and improved overall function, and YES! -Optimal Health Results. My knowledge on how the joints of the body and the nervous system influence our health began to grow. These concepts are very much in the forefront of my practice today. I consider myself a "chiropractor for all" - meaning, wherever you find yourself in the health continuum, I will come along side you and help you move towards your optimal level of health.
Hobbies:
Any and all water sports! I enjoy meeting people when I travel and find out through them, the details of their state or country. Other hobbies include squash, racquetball, and Bible studies. I try and stay balanced and not let one thing control my life, whether it be at the office or watching/playing sports. My number one job is to be the best husband and father I can be.
Religion:
I am a Christian who believes in the Trinity.
